Star 80 (1983) an incredibly ugly and disturbing film: that got the world of pornography completely right, but at times I thought it went too far. The movie captures the sick obsession and addiction of porn, as mirrored in the perverted husband and killer of centerfold Dorothy Stratten. It also anticipated the pandemic of internet porn slavery by 20 years. Bob Fosse, the director, expertly seized upon the star-struck, desperate, and somewhat naive mindset of many of those who fall into the trap of porn as models and actors. For those who think pornography harms no one, it should be required viewing.
