I am somewhat amused by all the constant chatter in the media about how important this conclave is, as, according to them, the Church is at a “crossroads.” Well, in my mind, every conclave has been important, and vital, and landmark, and so on... For, the Holy Catholic Church has always stood against the emerging tides of whatever relativistic philosophy sprang up over the past 2,000 years: from Arianism to Communism from abortion to homosexuality. Its gone against them all. As the world continues to push, the Church is firm in its commitment to the Law's of God. This plays out on a universal scale with the Holy Father, but we must all pit ourselves in these same battles everyday. For myself, I remember being lured to the open honey-dripping mouth of the devil himself. His lies brought me ever closer. And then, being swallowed whole. The pull and glamor of the world is strong, but we must forever resist. We too are soldiers.
