“God found in St. Joseph, as in a second David, the man that His heart desired, the man whom he could entrust with the deepest and most sacred mystery of His heart. To him as to another David He revealed the most secret and difficult truths of His wisdom. He confided to him knowledge concerning a most eminent mystery, such as would not be granted to any of the mighty ones of this world.” ~ St. Bernard (Hom. 2, sup. Missus est.)
If the Almighty God and Creator of the Universe condescended to entrust a humble carpenter of Nazareth, why should we not commend many of our lowly worries and concerns to that same righteous man? For, on Earth, the Faith of Joseph truly moved mountains, as he protected the Christ Child from the very forces of Hell. Joseph always prayed earnestly, heard the voice of the Lord, and acted accordingly. Now, in heaven, His prayers are still as efficacious, and his actions still as effective.
