Pornhub just completed a fascinating analysis of their site traffic on certain holidays: they found that there is a dramatic shift in pornography viewing habits during those days. For example: on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve - there is a huge drop in porn viewership. On those last two holidays, the decline is seen worldwide. First of all, this proves that porn is the refuge for the lonely. Why? Because when those who are obsessed and addicted to porn are with friends and family, and their minds are occupied with other thoughts, the grip of porn is less intense. Later, when they are alone, feeling lonely, depressed, abandoned, and unaccepted - they turn to pornography for companionship, solace, and release. The lesson to be learned: if you are suffering from porn addiction - do not alienate yourself; stay active and outdoors; surround yourself with healthy family members and friends; foster an active prayer life at a local church; spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament or at some holy shrine; volunteer your time; get out of your personal space; avoid being always alone.
