Gay U.S. soldiers deployed to Afghanistan are using Craigslist to meet and have sex with each other on bases across the war-torn country, leading to concerns about a breakdown in discipline overseas. Military commanders have forbade any service members who are not married to each other from having sex while deployed to the combat zone. As a result, each of the covert meetings is a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The soldiers and civilians in Afghanistan use the Iraq Craigslist page - a holdover from a time when hundreds of thousands of Americans were stationed throughout Iraq. The M4M section of the site features dozens of posts everyday, mostly from soldiers and civilians working with the military looking for hookups on bases and forward operating posts. The posts often include sexually explicit photos of the poster's genitals and sometimes even show sex acts.
On the other side of the Earth: the “Fifty Shades of Grey” series of porn novels are the favorite reading material among former CIA captives being held at the Guantanamo detention camp, it has emerged. U.S. Congressman Jim Moran made the revelation after touring Camp 7, the top-security facility that holds more than a dozen “high-value” prisoners. The Democratic Representative of Virginia said the bestselling book by British author E. L. James was the most requested book - even beating the Koran. Proving, once again, that there is no corner of the world that has remained untouched from the evil grasp of pornography.
In the military sector, with regards to current efforts amongst some to curtail the influence of porn over solders: it’s a matter of too little too late. For, most recruits entering the ranks are already addicted to porn. Overseas, especially among the gay brigades, with the repeal of DADT, as the Bradley Manning case illustrated, the military can not heal the old wounds of a traumatized childhood. There, they just continue to fester. As for the Muslim detainees, despite it’s penchant for covering women in heavy drapery: Islam remains a highly sexualized religion; with visions of heavenly virgins and a prophet who married adolescent girls. With this in mind, it’s no wonder than internet porn consumption is at record levels in most Middle-Eastern nations.
