The US Military Approves of Playboy and Penthouse

Two of the Playboy incest twins...
According to “Military Times,” adult magazines including Playboy, Penthouse and Nude are permitted for sale on military installations because they do not meet the definition of indecent material under federal law, a top Pentagon official said.In other words, the Military views these sorts of soft-core pornography as innocuous and harmless. In reality, they are gateways to more hardcore and deviant forms of imagery. Only, the realm of so-called soft-core no longer inhabits the misty airbrushed fantasies of the 1970s. Nowadays, Playboy had repeatedly featured incest pictorials containing identical twins and even real mother/daughter lesbianism. As for Penthouse, the magazine often publishes photos of urination and “squirting;” or female ejaculation. They have crossed over into the world of hardcore.
But, these rags were never really safe; even in the days of the beautiful Dorothy Stratten. Like marijuana, they are entry level portals to more illicit diversions. For example, I knew a few junkies who shot-up, but not one of them started down the path of drug addiction with heroin. They all began with some “lesser” substance. Here, I think it’s helpful to look at a recent quote from kidnapper and rapist Ariel Castro who stated: “…my addiction to pornography and my sexual problem has taken a toll on my mind.” Now, not everyone who looks at a Playboyor a Penthouse will automatically desire kinkier porn. Just as not everyone who smokes a joint will tire of the light-high and seek out more powerful drugs; but, many do. In addition, the age of the user is also a factor: with those who are younger, and not physically or mentally mature, increasingly susceptible to the euphoric adrenalin rush that accompanies (especially male) masturbation climax associated with viewing pornography. In the military, with compounded stress and isolation, the reliance on porn becomes even stronger, substantiated by a US Army report which found an increase of 97% in the number of sex crimes over the past 5 years. Sadly, this bodes ill for the rest of us, since the military is a microcosm for the rest of society. As in Imperial Rome: when the Army fell, everyone else wasn’t far behind.
