One of the reality “stars” from MTV's “Teen Mom” series shopped her sex-tape around LA and got mega porn-pushers Vivid Entertainment to cough-up at least $1 million for it. This phenomena of celebrity sex-tapes going public can be traced back to Baywatch's Pamela Anderson whose X-rated honeymoon (1997) with then husband, rocker Tommy Lee, was mysteriously stolen then placed on the then burgeoning Internet. But, Anderson was already a household name; she did not need the extra publicity; which she got. The real originator of dubiously “leaked” home-made porn films is Paris Hilton. She turned a short porn parlay into a limited, but still lucrative, acting, music, and modeling career. Only, all that palls when compared to the multi-million dollar world empire built by the completely talentless Kim Kardashian. Even her dysfunctional family were more than willing to glom onto Kardashian's dubious notoriety, and make some deals for themselves. While an argument could have been made for the Hilton tape being the greedy machination of an ex-boyfriend, Kardashian shrewdly orchestrated the whole spectacle. And, it worked. Therefore, its no surprise that young women, who were girls when Kardashian first rose to fame, would aspire to follow in her footsteps. She made it viable; acceptable. Porn is no longer a sordid, monetarily desperate, or shameful choice. Its just another pathway to fame and fortune.
